The Houston Sustainability Indicators (HSI) project is a long-range effort sponsored by the Shell Center for Sustainability at Rice University to assist with the measurement and characterization of sustainability in Houston. This work is done through an Indicator Set. Metrics for the chosen indicators were defined and are measured based on literature review, expert and advisory consultation, and data availability. HSI is the only comprehensive sustainability indicators project in Houston and the only one which collects, analyzes and displays data at the municipality and neighborhood level. Updates are done annually.
Has Perfomance Measures?Yes
Metrics are defined to measure each indicator. Index values are not used.
