Description

Counting on Vancouver: Our view of the region is a report on the results of the citizen-led process to generate key indicators of sustainability for the Vancouver region, along with the vision and framework for local and global sustainability that give form to these indicators. Trend data are presented for the indicators where data are available and ideas for new data collection approaches and methodologies are provided where they are not. The report is additionally full of sources, examples of inspiring practices and troubling trends, and full colour photographs from around the region.

The process leading up to the publication of Counting on Vancouver: Our view of the region, was the most significant public engagement process toward sustainability indicators that the Vancouver region has seen to date. Some of the highlights of the process were the full-day workshop which launched it, Focusing ouR View (October 24, 2005), the RVu Data Crunch workshop featuring presentations from Statistics Canada and BC Statistics and the presentations and workshop which celebrated its completion, Expanding ouR View (April 3, 2006).

Le rapport Compter Sur Vancouver: Notre avis de la région, est aussi disponible en français. A summary of the report is available in Mandarin.
