Description

Vital Signs is a national program of Community Foundations of Canada. Participating community foundations (http://www.vitalsignscanada.ca/local-reports-e.html) report on the state of their local communities through an annual check up using relevant community indicators in ten or more issue areas.

In addition to raising awareness, VS stimulates and encourages dialogue among local people, educators and students, organizations, and policy makers about life in Greater Sudbury, issues and trends developing in the community, and local social, economic, environmental achievements and needs. It provides a constructive, useful tool for business, government, the charitable sector, and the community at large to assess and direct their strategic initiatives. As well, VS provides SCF with community information that informs its grant making and donor services.
