Description

The Children’s Trust is a dedicated source of revenue created by voter referendum in 2002 to improve the lives of children and families in Miami-Dade County by making strategic investments in their future. The Trust’s community indicators work revolves around four results that the community seeks for all its children: (1) children are healthy physically and emotionally, (2) children are supported by safe, nurturing families and communities, (3) children are ready to succeed when entering school, and (4) children are succeeding in school and society. Child health and well-being trends and comparisons are available via several formats: KidStats and Maps is an interactive mapping website with 90 indicators, Miami-Dade Community Indicators of Child Well-Being is a 2008 publication highlighting selected indicators, and Results-based Strategic Plan for Investments, 2011-2015 is a 2010 document identifying and trending the headline community indicators used to measure progress toward achieving The Trust’s four results. Using a results-based accountability framework, The Trust ensures its funded programs and services are aligned and contribute to results at the community level.
