Date: 2005
Abstract: In 1993, Truckee Meadows Tomorrow worked with the community and the Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Agency to select indicators that could be used to monitor how the region’s quality of life was changing over the years. In 1998, the original 66 indicators were narrowed down to 30 indicators that were of the most value to nonprofits and government agencies in the community. In 2004, the board of Truckee Meadows Tomorrow (TMT) agreed that in 2005, we should revisit which indicators we are monitoring in light of all of the changes the community has experienced since 1993. This report covers our performance on the 30 high priority indicators and will provide valuable background as TMT evaluates whether these are the best indicators to track changes to our quality of life. In this report, we have included the vision statements that were developed along with the original indicators in 1993. These vision statements are intended to provide additional background information for the indicator update process.
